Despite the fall in the vote – the Green Party says it should have a seat on the Federal Council.
It says it will fight for one of the two seats currently held by the Liberals.
Although the Greens didn’t mange to recreate their success four years ago, they point out they’re the fifth biggest group in parliament.
The Party President, Balthasar Glättli, says the climate needs to be represented in the government.
Parliament will be voting on the council seats in December.
