Gotthard Tunnel: 15km traffic jam

Drivers heading South through the Gothard tunnel needed some patience yesterday as 15-kilometer traffic jams meant a 2h 30 wait around 1pm.

At 10:30am traffic jams had stretched for 11 kilometers, which was a 50 minute wait. 

The TCS has a specific X/Twitter page exclusively for updates around the Gothard tunnel @tcsgotthard. It posts updates regularly.

For those particularly enthusiastic about the traffic situation, there’s also a webcam positioned at Goschenen looking southbound on the A2 available also to view from their website.
