Geneva has decided it will be more open about the amount of video surveillance it carries out.
It has published a list of 35 cameras across the city and a frequently asked questions page on the city’s website.
The most common question is: how long are the pictures kept for?
The city says 7 days, unless a legal request is made before deletion, then they may be kept for three months - or longer if a court asks for them.
It says the main aim of the cameras are for public safety and protection of property.
