Around a hundred Skyguide employees rallied outside the air traffic controller's Geneva headquarters on Monday warning management against pushing through a planned wave of redundancies
Staff and unions say they will accept no forced layoffs and want guarantees the company will lean on natural departures and early retirements instead.
Skyguide announced in the spring it wanted to cut up to 220 jobs by 2027, mainly in administration and technical services, before halving that figure after consultation.
Union secretary Yves Mugny called yesterday's rally a warning shot and said harder action would follow if a first round of dismissals goes ahead in September as planned.
Skyguide says it is under growing economic pressure and cannot avoid all layoffs.
