Switzerland's gender pay gap has narrowed slightly, but the unexplained portion still amounts to around CHF 640.- per month for women
The Federal Statistical Office puts the overall gap at 15.7% in 2024, down from 16.2% in 2022.
Training, seniority and role in the hierarchy account for part of the difference.
The rest reflects how women and men differ in their access to the labour market, and the gap widens the higher up the management ladder it is measured.
