Tractors filled the Plainpalais on Saturday as local farmers called for the ability to make a living and protection against foreign competition.
The demands are the same as other farmers in Europe.
They also focussed on the two main retailers – Migros and Coop.
The farmers called on the companies to pay better and reveal the price they’re paying to the producers.
They also threatened to block roads, like their French counterparts. Arnaud Rochat, a farmer from Vaud, says he would like to extend the protests with blockades.
