Fuel prices only rising

Swiss motorists and truckers are facing a fresh fuel shock, with diesel now averaging CHF 2.27 per litre — 27% more than in January

24 heures reports pump prices are pushing towards CHF 2.30 in some regions, above even the spring peak. Russia has halted fuel exports, worsening a global diesel shortage, while low water levels on the Rhine are hampering deliveries into Switzerland. Coach and haulage operators are among the hardest hit, with one Valais firm calling the surge more brutal than April's oil shock. Households are likely to feel it too, through higher heating oil and delivery costs into the winter.
