Heavy snow has been causing problems on many roads in the country – especially in the more easterly regions.
Around Graubünden and the Engadine the snow line was down at 1,500 meters.
Traffic tailed back heading for the San Bernardino tunnel and there were several accidents on the smaller roads.
More is coming – and at lower altitudes.
Meteonews is reporting snow will be falling at 1,000 meters in the next 48 hours and heavier snow is expected higher up.
