Prosecutors investigating the Crans-Montana fire are now turning their attention to members of the municipal council.
Two former heads of safety are due to be questioned in the next couple of weeks.
Currently, there are no plans to question the mayor, Nicolas Féraud, but he has told the press he would face up to any charges laid against him - suggesting he expects to be investigated.
Lawyers for the victims say council members should have been questioned already and their homes searched long ago.
