Final choices of new bank notes released

The Swiss National Bank has released the six finalists for the competition to design the next series of bank notes.

The six chosen from a public survey and expert evaluations. More than 100,000 people took part in the vote between mid-August and early September.

Experts will now make the final choice.

The general colours of the notes stay the same – such as green for the 50, blue for the 100 and purple for the thousand.

The winning concept will be announced early next year and the new Swiss banknotes are expected to enter circulation at the start of the 2030s.
