Thousands of people and many politicians from Geneva, Vaud and France are fighting plans for a huge landfill site to be opened along the banks of the Versoix river between Chavannes-des-Bois and Chavannes-de-Bogis.
It’ll be the size of 70 football pitches.
Campaigners against the project say it’s madness to put a landfill site next to the river, which supplies drinking water.
Already 25,000 have signed a petition and the mayor of the nearby French town, Divonne, says he’s watching closely.
