Fears of werewolf hunters

The unusual appearance of a full moon so close to Easter is triggering concerns followers of ancient religions may believe tonight is a night to be careful of.

Folklore suggests beasts will rise and roam the forests, and in a confused confluence of stories – these beasts can only be tackled with silver bullets.

To be clear – the police don’t believe in werewolves, but a recent search of a farmhouse in canton Appenzell has unearthed something to be worried about – a small box of silver-plated bullets.

Police say some are missing. They’re warning tonight is not the night to take a midnight stroll in case mistakes are made.

Clair Caulard who’s head of folklore at Oxford University says more people are taking an interest in the old beliefs…

“all these stories are online and then people confuse the vampire legends, old Viking stories and TV shows – so you end up with these modern takes on old beliefs. And if taken too seriously, they can be dangerous”

Police point out that silver bullets will kill anything – so stay away from the forests tonight.

p.s. have you seen the date today? I think it's April Fool's Day.
