Vaud police are warning of a wave of fake parking tickets and delivery notices using QR codes to steal bank details.
The scam is targeting the towns of Crissier, Renens and Bussigny, with bogus tickets imitating the Fondation des Parkings and fake delivery slips imitating Swiss Post.
Scanning the codes leads to convincing fake websites that demand personal data and credit card details, threatening an extra CHF 80.- penalty for non-payment.
The two known sites have been blocked but police expect copies to appear quickly. Anyone in doubt about a parking ticket should take it to their local police station before paying.
