Entire International School in isolation

All students and staff at Ecolint's La Châtaigneraie campus in Founex, Vaud are now in quarantine after two cases of the Omicron variant were confirmed.

The measures involve 2,000 people – 1,600 of them students.

Canton Vaud authorities say the move has been taken after a mother developed Covid symptoms following her return from South Africa on November 26th. It’s been confirmed she has the new variant.

The Vaud department of health says the mass isolation is precautionary.

As well as those who attend the school, either as students or staff, all those living in their households will be screened to check they’re not carrying the new variant.

The school says it will move to online lessons from Monday.
