Eat at regular intervals to stay healthy

Eating healthy only works if you do it regularly.

A new study from EPFL in Lausanne, published in Nature Communications, confirms that it’s not just eating fruits and vegetables that matters, but eating them consistently. 

Researchers found that irregular consumption cancels out many of the benefits for gut health.

Using stool samples, they were able to predict a person’s diet and gut bacteria with up to 85 percent accuracy. 

The findings could help prevent digestive disorders. 

EPFL scientists now plan to study how food additives affect the intestinal microbiota.
