We’re experiencing an early start to spring – but is it that unusual and how long will it last?
According to Meteonews, speaking to the Blick newspaper, mild Februarys are not unknown, but they are getting more frequent.
The reason at the moment is a high-pressure zone, meaning there’s no rain and warm air is flowing up from the Mediterranean.
As it’s been very dry, the snow level at some resorts is now getting low. One near Chur in Graubünden has already had to close for safety reasons.
But good news for snow fans – we’re likely to see a sharp change at the end of the week, with more snow – even down to the lower ground.
But forecasters do say that the situation remains uncertain and it’s very hard to judge.
