Dozens of people in Geneva and neighbouring France have been financially ruined after falling for a Ponzi investment scheme.
The Geneva businessman behind the scheme is now in jail.
The Ponzi plan works by paying early investors with the funds of those joining. It’s the same rip-off that was run by the late New York financier Bernard Madoff.
Swiss French TV says there are around 70 victims. It’s thought the man took CHF 8m from his victims.
