Dog owners in Geneva are calling for better access to the lake, saying restrictions have left pets with few places to cool off.
More than a thousand have signed a petition urging dog friendly swimming areas.
Campaigners say dogs are getting a rough deal in Geneva with few parks they can use and it’s unclear when and where they can paddle in the lake.
They’d like to see a space at the new Quai Wilson swimming areas, currently being developed.
City officials say the project does not currently include a dog swimming zone, adding that any decision will depend on cantonal regulations and environmental constraints.
