Doctors impatient for 4th dose go-ahead

Many doctors in Switzerland want to start issuing a fourth dose of the covid vaccine, but are waiting for the official go-ahead.

If a patient wants a fourth dose, they have to sign a waiver saying they will take responsibility if there are any complications.

Other countries are already offering a fourth dose. Israel has been since January and in the United States, anyone over 50 is entitled to another dose after 4 months from the third.

Infection expert, Huldrych Günthard at the University Hospital Zurich, told the SonntagsZeitung he recommends those over 70 and those who are immunocompromised should get a fourth jab.
