Crans Montana publishes fire reports

The commune of Crans-Montana has finally published the fire-inspection reports and internal audit tied to the Constellation nightclub tragedy, after months of refusing

The move came only after the cantonal transparency ombudsman stepped in, prompted by a request from a Lausanne resident.

The inspection reports date from 2018 and 2019 — the commune has already conceded that no full safety check was carried out at the venue after 2019.

A separate 2023 audit flagged staffing shortages and management judged "inadequate", though local officials insist none of it would have prevented the New Year's Eve fire that killed 41 people.
