Covid has not gone away. The latest figures from the Federal Health Office shows infections and hospitalizations are on the rise.
Over the past week there have been nearly 17,000 new infections reported, a rise of 38% from the previous week. Out of a total of 600 people currently in intensive care throughout the country, 5% are due to covid.
7 have died over the past week and 212 people have been hospitalized.
Some observers suggest the rise in infections is due to the colder weather and more people now in closer contact due to being indoors more.
