Covid certificates suffer glitch

Covid certificates stopped working for a while yesterday evening.

IT problems hit the app on phones as well as the app used to check the validity of the certificates. 

At around 7.30 last night, many certificates were shown as invalid. The problems for most people lasted for just over an hour – but those with certificates issued outside Switzerland couldn’t use them until about 10.30pm.

The Federal Office for Information Technology says it worked at full speed to fix the problems.

A similar problem hit the apps last week.
