Accessing toilets at train stations is becoming harder for those who use cash – although not impossible.
Swiss Federal Railways is upgrading the toilets and in doing so, installing systems which require a payment card or Twint to pay the CHF 1.50 fee.
But there remains an option for those with cash – being installed next to toilets is a vending machine that will sell one a time entry card for the same amount.
But there are some reports that those machines run out of cards very quickly.
