A Swiss People’s Party candidate has been forced to remove an AI generated video which seems to show a political opponent vote for him.
Andreas Glarner, from canton Aargau, posted the video to X – formerly known as Twitter.
It portrayed a deepfake image of a Green national councillor, Sibel Arslan, who’s a Swiss/Turkish dual national.
The video shows her saying ‘I want all Turkish criminals expelled, please vote for the SVP’.
She never said that.
Glarner says the video did have a symbol showing it was generated by AI and titled ‘If Sibel Arslan was honest’.
