A brutal home invasion in Onex in Geneva is still haunting a family one year on.
A 92-year-old grandmother was attacked in her apartment by three minors who slipped into her building behind her.
She was pushed to the ground, beaten, threatened with a knife and gagged, while the attackers ransacked her home.
The youths were quickly arrested and tried in juvenile court. One of the young women was ordered to pay CHF 15,000 in damages.
But for the victim’s family, the punishment doesn’t match the trauma. The grandmother is now deeply scarred, and has since had to leave her home for sheltered housing.
