Cross border commuters face heavy delays from today as border checks and closures start, due to increased security measures ahead of the G7 summit.
Of the roughly thirty crossings between the canton and France, only seven will remain open for the next week.
Around 150,000 people cross this border every day, and long queues are expected at the remaining checkpoints.
Delays are expected at the airport which will be increasing security.
There will also be changes to public transport in the canton.
Cross-border bus lines 64 and 69 will be suspended, while seven other lines will see route changes.
