A massive, but isolated, storm hit the town of Flawil in canton Sankt Gallen yesterday afternoon.
In only 2 hours, 60 litres of rain hit, according to Meteonews. That’s 5% of the area’s average annual rainfall.
Cellars were flooded and fire services had to pump out several properties.
Emergency services were called out 50 times in two hours.
The rain turned the roads into rivers. Locals say it will take several hours to fully determine the amount of damage.
