With tomorrow’s partial solar eclipse, safety experts are urging observers to wear only certified eclipse glasses — and to leave the photography to professionals.
Astrophotographer Angela Fux warns that unprotected exposure to the sun can cause permanent eye damage, even through a camera viewfinder.
The eclipse peaks between 8:15 and 8:20 pm, before the sun sets at 8:42 and the Perseid meteor shower takes over.
Anyone hoping to shoot the meteors will still need a wide-angle lens, a long exposure and a tripod.
