Cheap clothes, giant stores, and bargain prices - that’s the Primark formula.
The Irish discount fashion chain has nearly 500 stores across Europe and the U.S., but still none in Switzerland, and that’s not changing anytime soon.
Geneva’s Balexert shopping centre has turned Primark down, saying fast fashion doesn’t fit its quality standards.
The centre’s director says he’d rather see brands like Uniqlo, or even a second-hand store.
Elsewhere in Switzerland though, the door to Primark isn’t completely closed.
The head of the Glatt shopping centre in canton Zurich said they would certainly consider Primark if it asked.
