Another Geneva beach closed

Swimmers beware - Creux-de-Genthod beach on Geneva’s Right Bank is off-limits again.

Tests by the Cantonal Water Office found unsafe levels of bacteria - the kind you don’t want in your bathing water. 

Health officials warn that exposure can bring on stomach cramps, diarrhea and skin infections, dogs are at risk too. 

The cause of the contamination remains a mystery, no storms to blame this time, so investigators are checking pipes and drains. 

Earlier this summer, other Right Bank beaches faced closures for wastewater leaks. For now, the message is simple: stay dry, stay safe and wait for the all-clear.
