Annecy street food outlet closed

French authorities have shut an Annecy street food outlet for 90 days after finding it employing five foreign workers without permits

The prefect of Haute-Savoie ordered the closure of Panam's on Rue de la Poste, which was also caught concealing salaried employment.

The 90-day administrative shutdown is one of the tougher penalties French prefects can impose for undeclared labour.

It is a reminder to workers on both sides of the border that French labour enforcement remains active in the cross-border department many Swiss residents pass through every day.
