What’s happening with the discount supermarket Aldi in Switzerland?
Fans of the chain are worried after it was announced its flagship store on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich will also be closing.
The company has already announced several other store closures - all in the German speaking areas - so far.
Retail analysts say the closures will be primarily aimed at improving efficiency - it’s not a sign the chain is thinking about abandoning Switzerland. But it is the end of the formerly aggressive expansion plans.
The German chain first entered the Swiss market 20 years ago.
