Dozens of women rallied in Bellinzona on Tuesday evening to protest domestic violence, after Ticino recorded its third femicide of the year on 9 July.
Switzerland has now counted 17 femicides in 2026.
Protesters called for stronger legal protection, faster interventions and more funded shelter places.
Protest groups add there’s also no opportunities for violent men to attend therapy, so reoffending is likely.
Victims of domestic violence can now call the national helpline 142, launched in May.
