In Geneva, a 52-year-old woman was found dead early Saturday morning in her apartment in Carouge.
Police were alerted by an emergency call and discovered her shortly after 4 a.m.
Initial findings suggest she died after being repeatedly punched and kicked by her partner during the night.
The 49-year-old man has been arrested and placed in pre-trial detention.
