Vaud police are set to expand the use of tasers after a six-month trial showed positive results.
Authorities say the devices help de-escalate dangerous situations and are used only as a last resort before firearms.
During the pilot, tasers were mostly effective as a deterrent, rarely needing to be fired. A taser was used only once against a person carrying a knife.
