The vaccination programme is continuing. Figures from the Federal Health Office show 6.3% of the population have been vaccinated – and at the current rate it will take 63 weeks for everyone to get the jab.
Some cantons are performing better than others. The best is Basel-City which has now vaccinated almost 10% and will have got to everyone in 39 weeks.
The worst is Obwalden. On its current rate it will take more than 8 years to get to everyone.
Geneva is performing better than average. 6.2% have had at least one shot – and will get to everyone in 58 weeks on the current rate and Vaud will take 48 weeks.
There is the expectation that the vaccination rates will speed up – so the current estimated times should shorten.
