Ukrainian Mission in Geneva overwhelmed with aid

The Ukrainian Mission in Geneva says it has been overwhelmed after appealing for warm clothes, food and medical aid.

The mission is on a small street in Servette – ironically, the Russian Consulate is next door. The Russian guards found themselves directing traffic to the Ukrainians.

A steady procession of cars dropped off bags filled with much needed aid. It’s already been loaded onto a truck and is on its way to the Ukrainian border – only 2,300 km from Geneva.

Much of the aid will be given to the thousands of refugees who have fled the country – mainly women and children as men have to stay behind and fight.

The mission is suggesting before offering any more aid, check with them to find out what’s needed.

They are asking for more sophisticated items, such as tents, laptops, batteries, generators and walkie talkies.

The International Red Cross is calling for donations to help those affected by the conflict. You can find their page by simply searching ICRC Ukraine.
