UK extreme sportsman lost in Ticino

Bren Orton

A well-known British extreme sportsman is missing in canton Ticino.

Authorities say they fear the worst.

Bren Orton was in a kayak on the fast waters of the Melezza – which flows into the Maggia river – last Thursday. He hasn’t been seen since, although his Kayak has been found.

Rescuers and his friends are continuing to search – but the family admit the hopes of finding him alive are dwindling.

Orton has tens of thousands of followers on social media and makes enough money to finance himself.

He’s known for his stunts – including kayaking down 30 metre high waterfalls.
