Two fatal incidents have been reported at ski resorts in the French Alps.
At Val Cenis in Haute-Savoie, a 53-year-old skier was found unconscious in a gondola on Tuesday afternoon and is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.
Despite efforts by ski patrollers and doctors, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Earlier the same day, a Spanish skier was also killed after being found unconscious in an off-piste area at Les Menuires in Savoie.
