The TPG says it will build a new tram track that will allow trams running to Chene-Bourg to turn around if part of the road is blocked.
The rte de Chêne is accident prone – and if the track is blocked, it stops all the trams on that long section.
The TPG says in 2023 that happened 47 times – so far this year, it’s been 37 times,
The new track will allow trams to turn back and keep the network flowing. Work will start next week.
