Thousands took advantage of the lifting of many Covid restrictions and headed for the airport over the long weekend – but passenger numbers were still 15% down what could have been expected before the pandemic.

Across Europe, many of the rules have now been lifted - but there are still some countries which require a negative test and a vaccine certificate.
The busiest routes were to Spain and Portugal.

The airport says the weekend ran smoothly - with around 50,000 a day, there were no significant problems.
