Switzerland has taken another step towards banning Hamas and labelling the group as a terrorist organisation.
Yesterday, the upper house of parliament, the Senate adopted a motion calling Hamas ‘terrorists’. It still needs to be voted on by the House of Representatives.
The government is backing the move. The Federal Council says it considers Hamas terrorists – but parliament need to vote on the issue before February to keep the policy.
