Most Swiss people support the army - but far fewer are willing to pay more to fund it.
That’s according to the latest annual security survey by ETH Zurich, which found that 83% of respondents consider the armed forces necessary.
Yet only 31% back raising VAT to finance the military.
The findings highlight a growing divide over how Switzerland should strengthen and sustain its army, despite rising fears over war in Europe, cyberattacks and disinformation.
