FIFA has confirmed that Switzerland's first-half penalty against Qatar in their World Cup opener was correctly awarded.
The semi-automatic offside technology briefly stopped working during the foul on Remo Freuler that led to Breel Embolo's spot-kick, prompting questions over whether Freuler was offside in the build-up.
The football body says its video assistant referee process was not affected, and the lines used confirmed no offside in either of the two phases before the decision.
Switzerland ultimately drew 1-1 after Qatar equalised in the 94th minute following a Swiss own goal.
