The Swiss Sauber Formula 1 team is celebrating after the first race of the season.

Their two new drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou finished 6th and 10th – picking up nine points in one race – for comparison, the team won 13 points throughout the last season.

Boosted by 10-time winner, and former Lewis Hamilton teammate, Bottas and the up and coming Chinese star Zhou, Sauber is feeling confident for the future.

The team boss, Fred Vasseur, was close to tears when he spoke to the Blick newspaper – he called it a great start to the season and they couldn’t expect more.

Sauber has teamed up with Alfa Romeo Racing since 2019.

The Swiss F1 team is based in Hinwil in canton Zurich and employs 520 people.
