This weekend the section of the A9 autoroute between Lausanne-Vennes and Chexbres will be closed to all traffic.

It’s to allow the demolition of the Chenaule bridge which crosses the road.

The road will be closed from 10pm on Saturday – and reopening is planned for 4am on Monday.

On Sunday afternoon, the road heading toward Lausanne may be open for a few hours. But it will close again on Sunday evening.

The Federal Roads Office advises drivers coming from German speaking regions and heading for Valais to take the A12 via Fribourg to Vevey.
