More counterfeit cash has been seized than ever before – but it may be down to better detection than more fake notes.
Last year the Federal Police Office says more than 7 million francs in fake notes were taken out of circulation.
Swiss notes are popular for counterfeiters. For comparison, in Germany less than three million euros in fake notes were discovered.
It’s likely the high value of Swiss notes is the appeal.
