Prisoner escaped in Aargau. Re-arrested in Zurich

The Aargau Cantonal Police have re-arrested an escaped prisoner. The 23-year-old escaped last Thursday in Baden, Canton Aargau, from a police transport vehicle.

He was spotted on Friday, still wearing handcuffs, but escaped re-arrest. The police made an official announcement on Tuesday this week that a large scale search had been conducted, but to no avail - until yesterday.

Civilian investigators from the Aargau cantonal police force spotted the wanted man in Zurich at around midday on Wednesday and arrested him.

According to reports, he was still wearing the handcuffs on his wrists, but the connecting links had been severed.

A 41 year old man was also arrested nearby. Both men are now in custody in Aargau.
