The Post Office is issuing a new series of stamps – mainly celebrating the planets in the solar system – but not forgetting Switzerland will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest this year.
The series of planets, as well as the sun and the moon, is to mark the work of the University of Geneva in space exploration.
The university has been instrumental in how to find planets outside the solar system and recently contributed to the discovery of a potentially habitable planet.
There will be exactly 12,742 copies of the planet stamps, the number matches the diameter of the earth – in kilometres.
One stamp will highlight Switzerland hosting the song contest. It’s a singing mouth in front of an old style black and white TV set.
The stamps are on sale now.
