More children are being admitted to hospital across the region with Covid related issues – but the numbers are not worrying, according to doctors.
The main hospitals in Geneva and Lausanne say they have more children – but none of them are in intensive care and only have mild symptoms.
Mario Gehri, head of paediatrics in Lausanne says he’s dealing with mainly infants suffering a persistent cough or fever.
He says the main problem is staff. Many are isolating or at home because a family member needs care.
He adds general exhaustion is also having an impact.
